Narrative Writing

What is Narrative Writing?

Narrative Writing relates something that happened.  It is not the story itself, but it is the telling of the story.   While a story is just a sequence of events, a narrative recounts some events, and may leave others out because they are from some perspective insignificant.  It may focus on a small selection of events to emphasize a moral, life lesson, or other important or underlying meaning.  A Narrative can be fiction containing a fabricated story line, or it may be non-fiction, based on events that really happened.
